Edmonton Oilers Advance to Stanley Cup Final for First Time Since 2006

Connor McDavid Scores Goal and Assist, Stuart Skinner Makes 34 Saves in 2-1 Victory

EDMONTON - Connor McDavid had a goal and an assist, and Stuart Skinner made 34 saves to help the Edmonton Oilers defeat the Dallas Stars 2-1 and advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2006.

McDavid gave the Oilers the lead with a power-play goal at 19:38 of the first period. He also assisted on Zach Hyman's goal at 11:20 of the second period.

Skinner was solid in net for the Oilers, stopping all 34 shots he faced. He made several key saves in the third period to preserve the victory.

The Oilers will now face either the Colorado Avalanche or the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Final. The series is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, June 15.
