Fiona Bruce Antiques Roadshow

Fiona Bruce returns to Antiques Roadshow despite replacement rumours

The broadcaster will be back on screens this year as the new series begins.

Bruce has presented the show since 2008.

BBC has confirmed Fiona Bruce will be back on screens travelling around the UK for the new series of Antiques Roadshow despite receiving criticism for her presenting style since she took over from Michael Aspel in 2008.

The 58-year-old broadcaster, who also presents Question Time and Crimewatch, has been a popular figure with viewers since she joined the show, but some have criticised her for being too "posh" and "stand-offish".

However, the BBC has stood by Bruce, and she will be back for the new series which begins later this year.

A BBC spokesperson said: "Fiona Bruce is a valued member of the BBC presenting team and we are delighted that she will be returning to Antiques Roadshow for another series."

Bruce herself has said that she is looking forward to getting back on the road and meeting new people and seeing new antiques.

"I love Antiques Roadshow," she said. "I think it's a great way to learn about history and culture, and to see the amazing things that people have in their homes."

The new series of Antiques Roadshow will begin on BBC One in the autumn.
