Goals from Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe secured France a place in the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Poland on Sunday.
Giroud opened the scoring in the 44th minute with a close-range finish, becoming France's all-time leading goalscorer in the process. Mbappe doubled the lead just two minutes later with a stunning solo effort, before adding a third in the 90th minute to wrap up the win.
Poland pulled one back through Robert Lewandowski in the 90th minute, but it was too little, too late as France progressed to the last eight, where they will face either England or Senegal.
